| Important Trade Fairs this month - Hong Kong & Guangzhou |
|
The organizers of this year's Houseware and Gifts Exhibition have split the popular shows into 2 separate shows this year. The Houseware Fair (April 14 to 21, 2001) is the 3rd biggest of it's kind in the world and is the biggest in Asia with over 1,700 exhibitors and 14 groups of pavilions. The Gift and Premium Fair (April 24 to 27, 2001) is also the biggest in Asia of it's kind and has around 2,700 exhibitors and 14 groups of pavilions representing more than 14 countries, yet more than half of the 4,400+ exhibitors represents Hong Kong companies. The total exhibition area of the two fairs combined will encompass a total of more than 98,000 Square meters in the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Center. Last April, 54 595 visitors viewed products from approximately 3,446 exhibitors. These two fairs provide an opportunity for sellers to impress potential buyers with their product and are a great opportunity for them to test the market. |

The Houseware Fair will have displays featuring housewares (bathroom and kitchen accessories), tableware, household textiles, lighting, handicrafts, flatware, home decorative items, glassware and furniture. The Gift and Premium Fair will be a showcase of a wide range of products including consumer electronics, fashion jewelry and accessories, picture and photograph frames, silverware, sporting goods, travel goods, stationery, corporate gifts, designer gift items, party and Christmas decorations, ceramic gifts, pocket tools, plush toys, watches and clocks. Last year, overseas trade buyers represented 57% of the total visitor numbers and included buyers from the US, Taiwan, Japan, Australia and Singapore. The fairs are intended to be not only a place for business transactions, but also a medium in which buyers and sellers are able to network and exchange information. In between the two fairs, take the opportunity to explore all that Hong Kong has to offer. Email us to ask for more details or suggestions on possible tours during your stay with us here.
