Visa & Customs

General Information (last updated on 18 March 2002)

Visitors can come to Hong Kong without a visa (click here for details). Usually Immigration Department will grant a 14 days to 90 days visa for visitors, depending on which passport you are holding. Make sure you have sufficient funds (e.g. an international credit cards and/or appropriate amount of cash) to support your stay here because Hong Kong Government will not allow any visitors to look for a job here even without paid. You might also requested to possess a return ticket (except transit to Mainland China or Macau) on arrival to proof yourself no intention to stay longer.

If you want to stay longer than the period granted, you should apply a visa or entry permit before you come. If your country is not on the list or marked with a "R" (Visa Required), check with your local travel agencies, the nearest Chinese Consulate, or send your enquiries to hkstreet.com, we will be most grateful to help you. If you are the residents of Mainland China, Taiwan or Macau, a different rules will apply to get your visa, please look for further details down below.

Anybody who want to come to Hong Kong for employment, study, establish/join any business or residence, are required to obtain a visa or entry permit before arrival. Should you need further information please go to Hong Kong Immigration Department, 2/F, Immigration Tower, 7 Gloucester Road, Wanchai, Hong Kong [Tel: (852) 2824-6111, Fax (852) 2877-7711] to know more in details.

A separate visa is required for those who wants to visit China. You can apply before you start your journey through your local travel agencies, your nearest Chinese Consulate or apply after you have arrived Hong Kong through hkstreet.com. Click here for more details.
The quickest visa application takes only one business day and our prices are certainly competitive.
