| I survived the hike. My calves are not happy with me this morning though. We borrowed a book from a friend and it showed a trail at the Tai Tam Reservoir that was all concrete and graded easy. A walk in the park, literally! However, when we got there the two males in our party looked at the information board and decided (in their infallible wisdom) that it would be more fun to take the Wilson Trail to Jardine's Lookout, then join up with the Hong Kong trail to the top of Mount Butler, and walk down the other side to Tai Tam Tuk Reservoir. |

| It was hard to say the least. I think my facilities must be slipping as I enjoyed it! We rejoined the concrete trail below the reservoir and that was the aforementioned walk in the park. Absolutely beautiful! It amazed us to see such beautiful countryside in H.K. We came out on a major road and caught a bus into Stanley and had a drink and dinner at a beautiful restaurant there called "The Boathouse". It is on the corner near the H.K bank. It used to be old Igor's. One should bring their loved ones there for it is very NOT H.K! I loved getting out and seeing a different side of H.K and must do it again. There is another walk I want to try. It goes from the back of the Peak down to Aberdeen. Simon, my husband, wants to try the one up past Sai Kung. You know, everyone is given the impression that H.K is just a concrete jungle full of shopping. We were blown away. Some parts of the park looked like New Zealand! There were hardly any people there either. We will also probably have another Junk trip soon, when we will eat our hearts out on Lamma Island! | |
