Getting Around in Hong Kong

Most places can be reached by public transport that are run by the private sector. Travelling within Hong Kong is never a problem, given its size. The most convenient and easy-to-understand mode of transportation is MTR (subway), buses and taxis.

Airport Express Mass Transit Railway

Bus/Airport Bus
are operated by three main bus companies that run regular and dependable services to all residents in Hong Kong. Good news to all is that most buses are air-conditioned.
Taxis

Star Ferry
has been making the harbour crossing since 1898. The white and green ferry is now a cultural icon of Hong Kong.

Mini-Bus
"Yau Lok Ng Goy!", meaning "Stop here please!", is what you need to master before you get on to one of these mini-buses in Hong Kong.
Tram
crawls merrily each day along the island's northern backbone in the midst of rushing traffic. It has been in service since 1904.

Railway to N.T. and/or China Rent-a-car
is not recommended, but if you insist, here are your choices.
